چکیده
As recommended by the GEC-ESTRO work group, it is important for the 3D image guided CT, or MRI based brachytherapy of cer-A B C D vical cancer to verify what dose is received by 0.1 cm 3 , 1 cm 3 and 2 cm 3 (D 0,1cc , D 1cc and D 2cc , respectively) of the bladder and rectum volume (1). Intracavitary brachytherapy was applied with applicators type Fletcher tandem and ovoids, once a week on a HDR regime (high dose rate). Delineation of organs at risk (bladder and rectum) was made after each computer tomography (Panel A). The bladder and rectum were delineated on each

Evaluation of Volumetric Doses of Organs at Risk in Carcinoma Cervix Patients with HDR Intracavitary Brachytherapy and Comparison of CT-based and Conventional Plans
Background: Brachytherapy treatment planning in cervix carcinoma patients using two dimensional (2D) orthogonal images provides only point dose estimates while CT-based planning provides volumetric dose assessment helping in understanding the correlation between morbidity and the dose to organs at risk (OARs) and treatment volume. Objective: Aim of present study is to compare Internationa...
متن کاملInter-application displacement of brachytherapy dose received by the bladder and rectum of the patients with inoperable cervical cancer
BACKGROUND The aim of the study was to examine on the CT basis the inter-application displacement of the positions D0.1cc, D1cc and D2cc of the brachytherapy dose applied to the bladder and rectum of the patients with inoperable cervical cancer. PATIENTS AND METHODS This prospective study included 30 patients with cervical cancer who were treated by concomitant chemo-radiotherapy. HDR intraca...
متن کاملRectal and Bladder Dose Measurements in the Intracavitary Applications of Cervical Cancer Treatment with HDR Afterloading System: Comparison of TPS Data with MOSFET Detector
Background: Intracavitary brachytherapy plays a major role in management of cervical carcinoma. Assessment of dose received by OAR’s therefore becomes crucial for the estimation of radiation toxicities in HDR brachytherapy. Objective: Purpose of this study is to evaluate the role of in vivo dosimetry in HDR brachytherapy and to compare actual doses delivered to OAR’ s with those calculate...
متن کاملComparative evaluation of two-dimensional radiography and three dimensional computed tomography based dose-volume parameters for high-dose-rate intracavitary brachytherapy of cervical cancer: a prospective study.
BACKGROUND Dosimetric comparison of two dimensional (2D) radiography and three-dimensional computed tomography (3D-CT) based dose distributions with high-dose-rate (HDR) intracavitry radiotherapy (ICRT) for carcinoma cervix, in terms of target coverage and doses to bladder and rectum. MATERIALS AND METHODS Sixty four sessions of HDR ICRT were performed in 22 patients. External beam radiothera...
متن کاملEvaluation of deformable image registration in HDR gynecological brachytherapy
Introduction: In brachytherapy, as in external radiotherapy, image-guidance plays an important role. For GYN treatments it is standard to acquire at least CT images and preferably MR images prior to each treatment and to calculate the dose of the day on each set of images. Then, the dose to the target and to the organs at risk (OAR) is calculated with worst case scenario from I...
